Unnormalised Form, one table with all data elements
  1. Identify data elements, e.g. by highlighting values on sources such as:
    • a paper administration,
    • existing screens,
    • a design for desired screens.
  2. Put each data element on a yellow sticky pad. Align them all, next to each other.
  3. Put parameters (temporary information) and derived information aside. Ignore them for the time being. Later, during technical optimisation, you'll need them again.

Attention

  • Avoid double data.
  • Keep the definition of each data element mono interpretable. Avoid complex constructions such as:

    If element abc contains code 123, then data element def will have a ghi, or else a jkl, or is empty, which means...
