Spin

Dutch winter has not even started yet. But already it is quite cold here, freezing. Ditches are frozen. Skate producing factories are doing good business.

Why can't summer last for ever?

The seasons come and go because the earth axis is tilted related to the path around the sun. In winter the northern hemisphere is away from the sun. The daily turnaround find little day and lots of night.

Could that be different? Summer can last for ever. Just look at tropical countries such as Malaysia. But could this work for the Netherlands?

Yes, it could.

Let the earth spin!

We should have the earth spin in a different way:
  • still circling around its axes,
  • and going round in circles,
  • but continuously tilt towards the centre of the circle.
A fine idea, but impossible to implement and with one disadvantage. The southern hemisphere pays the toll. Winter will last for ever there.

Till next week,
