Stateliner, Port Augusta - Adelaide, 14 April 2010

birndi

The return journey back to the Netherlands is on it's way.

The red land passes the window of the bus.

To my right the Spencer Gulf shines blue in the distance.

Behind the mountains to my left are now familiar places like Wilmington, Melrose, Laura, Burra en Spalding.

This bus heads back to Adelaide.

Tomorrow Malaysian Airlines will give me a Selamat datang tuan-tuan dan puan-puan on the flight from Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur..

It is hard to say good-bye to Australia. This red land is alive.
It speaks:
A giant warm welcome.

Australia is like one giant big red carpet, a few megameters wide.

I have not departed yet, yet I want to return.
Birndi means red in Wirangu.

I do not know the word for welcome yet.

For the moment I assume it is Uldirn yadu manda marnaardu birndi-gu..

Till next nut,
